A Safe, Warm Space to Heal — Right From Your Own Screen

A Note From Dr. Sara

“If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or just plain stuck, let’s figure out why. You don’t have to carry this heavy weight all by yourself, and we can start untangling it together.” Hello and welcome. I’m Dr. Sara Harowitz. I know that looking for a therapist can feel daunting. I want you to know that when we meet online, you will never get a cold, clinical, detached stare from me. I am a warm, down-to-earth person who genuinely cares, and I’ll be right there in the trenches with you, actively listening and guiding you every step of the way. A lot of the things that cause us pain as adults—like constant anxiety, sudden bursts of anger, or feeling totally disconnected from the person we love—usually come from older, deeper places. Often, they stem from childhood experiences where our core emotional needs were pushed aside or ignored. To help you heal, I use a highly effective approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we will look at the different “parts” of you—like the part that protects you by getting angry, the part that carries deep anxiety, or the part that feels wounded. Instead of fighting these pieces of yourself, we will work to understand them, bring them into balance, and help you find true emotional freedom. Because my practice is 100% online through secure telehealth, you don’t have to worry about fighting traffic or sitting in a stressful waiting room. Whether you are living in Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, or a small coastal town, you can get high-quality, specialized care from the comfort and complete privacy of your own space anywhere in Florida.

My Background & Specialities

While I believe warmth and real connection come first, it’s also important to know you’re in expert hands. I’ve been a licensed clinical psychologist for over 30 years. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University and earned my Doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Widener University back in 1991. Over the decades, I have deeply specialized in a few core areas to better serve my clients: Internal Family Systems (IFS): Welcoming and healing all the different parts of who you are so you can live from a calm, confident place. Couples & Marriage Counseling: Helping partners stop fighting and start truly hearing each other again using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Trauma & PTSD Recovery: Using EMDR to help your nervous system finally calm down and let go of the past. Compulsive Behaviors & Sex Addiction: Providing a strictly confidential, shame-free space as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT). LGBTQ+ Affirming Care: I have spent over 25 years proudly walking alongside the LGBTQ+ community, providing a deeply safe, knowledgeable, and celebratory space for therapy.
